I am back to green this week with a mood board inspired by the stunning Baker wallpaper "Nympheus -
Botanical". An enduring classic of drooping lotus leaves and birds created in 1915 - but- still has a place in contemporary interiors today. This quintessential composition was created by British textile designer William Turner who was inspired by a Ming dynasty painting on a silk panel in the British Museum. I have created a garden room theme with palm leaf botanical fabric and cane furniture. The green paint colours are taken from the wallpaper and warm neutrals to compliment. I hope that this mood boards shows that classic designs can be used in informal and contemporary schemes if used with the right furniture and accessories. The botanical look is very popular at the moment so I hope this inspires you and shows how a classic design like this can be used in your home. Using a bold pattern in a room, with some light touches around it, like furniture and colour, can produce the perfect combination. I must mention details - chairs by Graham and Green, sideboard by 123 Furniture, ceramic vase by Nordic House, lamps by Nkuku, chair and table by Primrose and Plum, outdoor furniture by Dedon and palm cushion by Wilhelmina Designs.
