Exotic William Morris...

I have created this William Morris mood board to show that his work was not all flowers and greenery! This scheme showcases his wallpaper - "Net Ceiling" in charcoal/gold. I love the intricate design details, the dark background and the touches of gold. This is an exotic pattern so I've combined the wallpaper with furnishings that complement the global look. The chair from "Swoon" has unfinished wood similar to the wood used on the coffee table called "Menzies". I love the mirrored tray by "Notremonde" and the Moroccan style pendants will create fabulous light patterns across the room. Although this is a monochrome design I've chosen to add pattern with the rug from "Villa Nova" and in the cushions. A possible paint colour for this look would be Farrow and Ball's "Moleskin" and maybe some lighter, lilac greys. So, I hope this has opened your eyes to the classic designs of William Morris - check out his "Pure Morris" collection for a wonderful selection of wallpapers and fabrics that are timeless and will inspire...
